Consultation has concluded
The AUC is seeking input and advice on its draft Indigenous consultation framework, which outlines the AUC’s approach for Indigenous consultation including a description of the duty to consult and a planning tool for determining when notification should be provided to Indigenous groups. The Commission has identified three Indigenous consultation categories in the draft framework to improve regulatory consistency, predictable decision-making and public transparency.
For this next round of engagement, input and advice should be submitted to the AUC by Friday, July 10. The AUC encourages all feedback, but is specifically interested in feedback regarding the three Indigenous consultation categories. The framework and feedback received will form the foundation for updating AUC processes and procedures (i.e., Rule 007 and Rule 020).
More information about the AUC's external engagement on the draft AUC Indigenous consultation framework can be found in Bulletin 2020-22.
Please submit all consultation framework input and advice to amanda.spyce@auc.ab.ca by Friday, July 10, 2020. Submissions can also be uploaded below under the "Submit a document" section. Submissions will then be publicly available under "Consultation submissions" on the right-hand side of this page.
